06.04.2017. Juri NASCIMBENE (Bologna): Challenges for biodiversity conservation in forest and agrarian landscapes of north-eastern Italy. Hörsaal 31.11, Institut für Pflanzenwissenschaften, Bereich Pflanzenphysiologie, Schubertstraße 51, um 17:00 Uhr.
Agriculture and forestry are among the main causes of biodiversity loss worldwide and there is increasing awareness that future biodiversity conservation will largely depend on the capability of production forests and cultivated areas to provide suitable habitats for species and communities of conservation concern. How to reconcile production and biodiversity conservation in agro-forest ecosystems is therefore a hot challenge for the future from which the provision of relevant ecosystem services, the adaptation to global change, and human health depend. In this framework, I will present results of my recent studies addressing patterns of epiphytic lichen communities in production forests and patterns of vascular plant communities in vineyards in north-eastern Italy.
